Deli FAQs and Policies

Frequently Asked Questons

Hey, what's the deal - do you sell t-shirts or sandwiches?

We make t-shirts. But just like creating a sandwich at a deli, we tailor everything about your shirt to appeal to your taste. Choose a shirt style and size, pick the font that suits you best, and hold the lettuce. After we cook it up, your shirt will be wrapped in butcher paper and served with Chicago's very own Jays™️ potato chips. And yes, it's Trademarked™️.

When will my stuff be ready?

If you created your t-shirt using our design elements (clipart and fonts) it usually takes less than 24 hours for your order to be ready. If you uploaded your own image it could take a bit longer- plan on at least 48 hours. If one of your garments isn't in stock, we'll send you an email to let you know and of the wait time and alternative options. If you need something right away, please chat with us online or send us an email at info@tshirtdeli.com detailing your timeline. We'll let you know what's possible.

How will I know when my order is ready for pickup?

Currently, due to COVID 19 we are not allowing for pickup orders. If when we do start allowing for certain pickup dates, the following will apply: When your order comes out of the oven our final step is to walk over to our computers and send you an email that will detail the steps of how and when to pickup your order.

Your stuff is cool but can I bring my own item for you to print on?

Yeah sure... but, The T-Shirt Deli has an "enter at your own risk" policy. This means we can't replace your item in the event that anything goes wrong (like errors in printing (such as spelling), placement, shifting, burning or melting) even when it's our fault. If you've taken the time to consider how you'd feel if your stuff got damaged and you still want to take the risk, then YES, we will print on your item.

I'm wondering if it is possible to come into a store location and make a custom t-shirt and take it right away.

Currently our stores are closed due to COVID 19. But when it is safe to do so...It sure is! We're set up like a real deli where you can come in, place your order and wait for it to be made for you. Like any deli worth its weight in pastrami (ugh) sometimes there's a line. Sometimes you'll be able to run an errand or get a drink or two while we make your shirts. That's why if you're in a big hurry, it's best to leave more time or order ahead.

I fear the internet and want to come in and see you guys - where are your locations?

We have two locations, both in Chicago. But currently, due to COVID 19, they are both closed.
BUCKTOWN & ANDERSONVILLE

I chose Local Pickup, when can I come get my stuff?

When we complete your order our final step is to send you an email that tells you- "hey, guess what? Time to come pickup your order". Usually it takes 24-48 hours. If you’re having a t-shirt emergency please call or email us to make sure we’ve got your goods on hand. Still, the “so fast you’ll freak™”- “freaky fastest” way to get a t-shirt is to stop by. Unless the Cubbies are in the World Series. Then there could be a bit of a wait.

How soon will my order ship and what carrier?

We ship via USPS & UPS. Unless otherwise notified. If we have everything in stock, your order will ship within 24-48 hours. As soon as your order ships you'll get a tracking number. If we're missing something important and it could lead to a delay, we will personally call you up, give you some options and talk about it. Really talk about it, you know?

What's the deal with Sales Tax?

Illinois residents will be charged 10.25% sales tax. If you live in Illinois and don't wanna pay sales tax you can have your order shipped to a different state. But you'll have to figure out how to retrieve it. Which might end up costing more than the 10.25% sales tax... something to consider.

What's your policy on Returns & Exchanges by the way?

T-Shirts, like sandwiches, are custom-made – therefore, there are no returns or exchanges permitted. If WE make a mistake, please let us know (within 7 days of receiving your shirt) and we will gladly, humbly, and quickly make you a new one, of course.

Can we have a private party?

You mean at one of our store locations? Yes, of course. We'd love to host your party. Let's talk about it.

When is the The T-Shirt Deli Co. coming to my town?

Do you live in Chicago? Then here we are! For those of you outside the Chicago area, feel free to order online and have fresh shirts shipped straight to your door. Please stay tuned and we will keep everyone informed of our expansion.

What about catering? Do you guys do that?

Yes! We certainly can cater t-shirts at your special event. Tell us all about it.

I just love The T-Shirt Deli Co. Can I franchise one in my hood?

The T-Shirt Deli, Co. is a privately owned and operated company, using proprietary patent pending methods – there are no opportunities for franchise at this point. However if you wish to submit a proposal – we cannot reply to all of them – but if it intrigues us- we will contact you.

My dog loves t-shirts too. Can we bring her in?

God yes. We love dogs, sometimes more than we love people. And since we don’t serve real food (shhh!), we can welcome dogs at our Chicago locations.

I'm sure there are way more FAQs than you're showing here.

Oh yeah. For sure. We’ll keep adding them as they come up.
